If there is one “friend” that stands out for my seven-year-old grandniece Faith Fulmer among the 1,535 that she has on her facebook page (Faith’s Friends) to see her through her fight against a rare children’s bone cancer, that person might be David Graham.

Faith comes from Medford, a small city in southern Oregon, and David owns a restaurant there called 38 Central. They didn’t know each other a scant few months ago when a friend of the Fulmer family was lunching at his place and mentioned a little girl whose family could use some help…lots of help.

On Saturday, the 25th of this month, the Qi Brothers band will hold a benefit at 38 Central and will donate the door charges directly to Faith – and a fine arts auction that same night will provide funds. Naturally (that’s how things work in a small town), there will be a donation jar.

There are many other sources of generosity and support that have come forth – additional restaurants in the Rogue Valley as well as Handprints of Hope in Grants Pass which put on a concert. The love, and the donations, keep flowing in.

My regards, respect and appreciation for those who have demonstrated this extraordinary level of care – I will do a much more inclusive blog another time.

‘Til then, David Graham (above) will have to be our Poster Guy for Faith, Hope and (Restaurant) Charity: http://www.38oncentral.com/

  1. Just dropping the last deposit today from our “Music for Faith” Event last Saturday night ~ Thanks to Roxy Ann Winery, Domaine Paradox, Organic Nation, South Stage Cellars and all the sponsors who donated for the auction; and especially to the Music: the Qi Brothers (who created this special night) and all their musical friends. Together we raised over $700 for Faith (and a special hand crafted necklace awaits the young lady as well!) We will continue to have our Giving Jar at 38, and thank all who came by and danced and shared and gave ~ it was a wonderful night!
